Established as a Community Supported Agriculture farm in 1996, our farming philosophy has aways been to grow food as close and as harmonious with nature as we can. We thrive on building natural organic diversity to enhance the native habitat and ecosystem on the farm. We work on establishing wildlife corridors, ensure native plantings to improve water quality, reduce soil erosion, and create beneficial insect habitat.
The key to growing nutritious (and tasty!) fruits and vegetables is to nurture and grow a healthy soil. We mimic natural soil building processes through techniques such as composting, crop rotation, using cover crops and mulching, adding organic soil amendments, and following careful tillage practices. These techniques allow us to grow and harvest food without depleting but instead nourishing the soil and its natural life cycle. We farm organically, and are certified organic by Global Culture.
